Since my day-to-day attire often leans towards the athleisure world, I try to mix it up a little and feel somewhat more thoughtful about my outfits by accessorizing. I’m also a mom, constantly knee-deep in dirt, elbows deep in diapers, and making messes then cleaning on a repeat cycle throughout the day. So, I need accessories that can hang with my lifestyle. There’s a few brands I’ve stuck with for years, and they’re my absolute go-tos for easy wearing accessories that make it fun and simple to get somewhat put together, even if I’m still in leggings and a tee.
MVMT Watches
I’ve had mine for years, and I’m shocked how well it’s held up. It’s simple, light, doesn’t totally take over my wrist (though I was once definitely someone who wore the super oversized, 5lb feeling, chunky white watch: think Sandy Bullock in The Blind side). Time’s have changed though, and I like something a little less blingy. I have the Boulevard watch, and over time I’ve bought three different straps so I can switch them out to totally change the look and/or match an outfit.
Raen Sunglasses
I discovered these a couple years ago and have been obsessed ever since. I have three pairs, all super different, and all equally loved. The quality is so good, they hold up well even though they get sat on and thrown by baby, and they’re so comfy to wear. I haaate that feeling of tight/heavy sunglasses squeezing my face, and all the pairs I have pass that test with flying colors. They’re clean and understated, that perfect in between where you can dress them up or down and feel like they totally complete an outfit.
Our Spare Change
Thank you Instagram for connecting me to this small Cali business (they’re based in our town!) – I’m officially obsessed! Shiny, dainty pieces of gold jewelry that you never have to take off. Shower, ocean, you name it, I don’t take them off. They have a great story and mission behind their work – you know I love that in a company. They’re dedicated to storytelling, empowerment, and sustainable change. My biggest issue? Deciding which one I want next. Many of the pieces are customizable which makes it so unique, personal, and fun to design.
Pura Vida
I’ve been wearing items from them for years, and I have jewelry from them that’s lasted years! They have tons of affordable, pretty, easy-wearing pieces that you can dress up or down. I love their beachy, boho styles the best. And they stand up to mom life (aka being outside, getting messy and wet, being pulled on, knocked around, and chewed on by babies, etc) so I never have to worry about being super cautious with any of their pieces. Plus, they provide jobs to hundreds of artisans across the world and have donated millions to charity.
Gorjana
Anddd yet another jewelry line I’ve been loving for years. Tons of different styles, mostly gold but they also have silver and rose gold, which makes me happy because I love mixing metals. Their pieces last really well and again, stand up to messy mom life. They have so many different collections and styles, a lot of which have different stones in them, which makes for some really unique and gorgeous designs. They also have great sales sometimes, so keep your eyes out for those.
Beis Bags
I have one of their diaper bags and am so obsessed. It’s a shoulder strap one (also converts to attach to stroller), and yes I swore I’d never veer away from my original diaper backpack that we used for the first year with our first baby. But now we’ll finally be traveling more (yay!) and will have two kids in tow, so we need more than one bag to hold all their sh*t. And, let’s be honest, my sh*t too. That’s one of the reasons I love their diaper bag so much is that it passes as a regular tote for sure, and you could easily use for work or travel – I use it for all of the above. Whether or not it’s diaper-filled, no one will ever know! So many pockets for organization (which is crucial for me otherwise I get super overwhelmed and flustered trying to find stuff), tons of interior space yet the bag itself doesn’t feel huge from the outside, and it’s got a little fancy flare in its styling, which makes me feel more put together.
